Kia Syros Review: Premium Compact SUV in India with Bold Looks and Big Comfort

The Kia Syros has become one of the most talked about compact SUVs in India, mainly because of its bold design and premium pricing. At first glance, the styling feels unusual with its boxy shape, chunky cladding and quirky lighting. Some people may find it odd looking, almost like a fancy fridge that you would want to show off. But with time, the design begins to grow on you and makes the Syros stand out in traffic. Step inside and it feels like Kia has focused on comfort and features more than anything else. The rear seat is the highlight, offering reclining and ventilated seats, sunshades and an armrest. On a long drive between Pune and Mumbai the comfort was so good that sleeping in the back seat came naturally. The front cabin feels equally premium with neatly designed controls, quality materials and a Harman Kardon speaker system that makes every drive enjoyable. For those who value a feature loaded SUV, the Syros delivers strongly. Kia has carried forward the same attention to detail that it showed earlier in models like the Kia Seltos, which is why the interiors feel a step above the competition.

On the road, the Kia Syros diesel automatic feels smooth and easy to handle. It stays planted at high speeds, overtakes without effort and gives an extra punch in sports mode for quick acceleration. In normal mode it manages city traffic comfortably. The drive feels relaxed overall and adds to the premium appeal of the car. Still, there are a few things that hold it back. The suspension at the rear feels unsettled on rough stretches which can make passengers uncomfortable if they are trying to use their phone or read. The styling, while bold, may not appeal to everyone especially at this price point. With a price tag that crosses twenty lakh rupees, the Syros is one of the costlier options in its class and not the most value friendly choice. But the strong points are hard to ignore. Space, comfort, premium features and a unique character make the Kia Syros a good pick for families who want something different. For buyers who prefer a softer ride and safer styling, rivals like the Hyundai Creta or Maruti Grand Vitara may be better options. The Syros is not perfect but it grows on you over time and offers a premium compact SUV experience that feels refreshing in this segment.
