The wait is finally over. The Hero Xoom 160 ADV scooter is now reaching customers, with deliveries beginning this month across India. Bookings started back in July, and ever since, riders have been eagerly waiting to get their hands on this unique scooter. For Hero, this marks an important step into the premium scooter space, while for buyers it offers something new beyond the usual daily commute machines.
A Scooter with Adventure Personality
The Hero Xoom 160 is not built to blend in. It comes with a bold design that instantly sets it apart from regular scooters. The upright stance, tall windscreen, and sturdy body give it an adventurous look that feels closer to a motorcycle than a typical scooter. As NDTV points out, the design makes it versatile for both everyday city use and quick weekend rides.
Buyers can pick from four striking shades, Matte Rainforest Green, Canyon Red, Summit White, and Matte Volcanic Grey, each of which adds its own character. Whether you want something sporty or something subtle, there is an option that fits the mood.
A Fresh Set of Features
Hero has made sure that the Hero Xoom 160 adventure scooter brings something different to the table. It is the company’s first scooter with a central tunnel design, moving away from the usual step-through style. According to DriveSpark, it is also the first scooter in India to come with a liquid cooled engine.
Other highlights include a keyless start system, a digital display with turn-by-turn navigation, stylish LED headlamps and tail lamps, and a 7-litre fuel tank neatly placed in the spine. Autocar India notes that these features help the scooter feel more premium, giving it a personality beyond being just another city commuter.
Power and Everyday Ride
The Hero Xoom 160 scooter is powered by a 156cc liquid cooled engine that produces 14.6 bhp and 14 Nm of torque. Numbers aside, the scooter feels smooth to ride in traffic and has enough punch to handle longer stretches of road with confidence.
As Times of India shared, the Xoom 160 delivers close to 40 km per litre, which makes it a practical choice for daily commutes as well. At 142 kg, it feels light enough for easy handling but still sturdy when riding at higher speeds.
Price That Makes Sense
Priced at ₹1.48 lakh (ex-showroom), the Hero Xoom 160 is more affordable than its closest rival, the Yamaha Aerox 155. This pricing gives it a strong edge while offering more features and a fresh design approach. According to Moneycontrol, Hero has positioned it as a premium scooter but without going too far on the price scale.
The Xoom 160 is also being sold through Hero’s Premia showrooms, which means buyers get a more exclusive purchase experience.
The start of Hero Xoom 160 delivery in India marks an exciting moment for scooters in the country. It shows that buyers today want more than just basic transportation, they want something stylish, powerful, and fun to ride. The Xoom 160 fills that gap perfectly.
With its bold looks, premium features, and sensible price, the Hero Xoom 160 ADV scooter could well inspire other brands to step into the adventure scooter category. For now, all eyes are on Hero as it opens a new chapter in India’s two-wheeler story.
